English Leather Deodorant for Men

Posted by Deodorant Guy on Sunday, 25 July, 2010

If you ask a guy about his fragrance, and he happens to be an English Leather fragrance guy, he will probably talk your ear off. There is something about the English Leather fragrance that makes a customer for life. The same is true of a man’s deodorant stick. Pretty much any man who uses it says that it keeps him dry and it’s the only deodorant stick that doesn’t irritate his underarms.

This is probably because the original English Leather deodorant stick is 100% aluminum free. Recently, the benefits of using aluminum-free deodorant have been well-publicized in the news. It is believed that aluminum is building up in our body tissues at a rate that is becoming toxic to our systems; therefore, doing whatever we can, up to and including using aluminum-free deodorant, is a good idea. It’s interesting to note that good old-fashioned English Leather deodorant stick has always been 100% aluminum free.

Unfortunately, it’s getting really hard to find if you shop locally. Stores don’t stock it anymore. Probably the massive explosion of trendy brands of deodorants for men has pushed it off the shelves and traditional brick-and-mortar retailers can no longer find room for it.

However, it is possible to find it online, but before you hit the Internet to find a stick, read up a little on the history of the company. House of Dana, the original manufacturer of English Leather cologne and a host of other classic fragrances for both men and women, was originally established in Barcelona, Spain in 1932. Today, Dana Classic Fragrances has purchased the portfolio of cologne and perfume brands from the bankrupt company and is operates out of Florida. Be careful when buying English Leather deodorant from online retailers, and be sure to verify that it is been recently manufactured by Dana Classic. Otherwise you could be purchasing an old, dried up stick that no longer is satisfactory.

The classic English Leather deodorant stick has, of course, that wonderfully masculine English Leather scent. Dana describes it as being chypre and filled with mossy, woody and leather notes. The word “chypre” refers to a family of perfumes that are comprised of a range of notes that begin with a citrus note on top, offer a floral note in the middle, and finish with a woody note on the bottom.

The emblem on the bottle is, of course, a leather English saddle. If you love horses, then you’ll agree there is no better smell than the smell of a new leather saddle. Of course, the same could be true of a new luxury car. That leather scent is amazing, and there’s really nothing quite like it either. English Leather is a sensual scent, and the slogan, which has been around for well over 20 years is “My man wears English Leather, or he wears nothing at all.”

Possibly you can see why classic English Leather deodorant stick has such a loyal following among men and their women. But times change and in order to stay solvent Dana must have had to change also, so they continued to expand their product line and there are other products available in the way of English Leather deodorant for men.

Wind Drift by English Leather for Men is a scent that acts on women like the Pied Piper acts on mice. Fortunately, it’s available in a deodorant stick so if you keep your arms down, you can go out and about in the city without getting too many hordes of women following you.

Another great innovation for deodorant is English Leather Musk, which can be found in a deodorant stick as well. English Leather Musk is described by men as being a warm-weather musk, meaning it is not too heavy, yet it’s more masculine than English Leather’s Monsieur Musk. It tends to be very subtle once it blends into the skin, and like all English Leather deodorants, is non-irritating.

English Leather Lime deodorant is another really popular stick that contains the classic English Leather scent with a twist of….lime, of course! It actually has tones of grapefruit, sage, cedarwood, violet and lime in it, for a truly refreshing and manly scent that both men and women just love. The protection afforded by the deodorant is long-lasting and true to the English Leather brand value: not messy, sticky or icky like some deodorants. Indeed, it could be said that wearing English Leather deodorant for men is like wearing nothing at all.

For men who are discerning and not easily swayed by a bunch of hype and advertising, the classic products of yesteryear are still the right ones to use. And there’s good logic to that. If it worked thirty years ago, why shouldn’t it still work today? Fortunately, the company has not changed the formula, and continues to make their English Leather deodorant the same way they did when it first came out so many years ago. It was great then, and it still is a great product now.
